The whirlwind of Manchester Wayne Rooney is set to join as player-coach for Derby County this January 2020 with the club confirming. The 33 yr old forward is an inspiration, to young lads aspiring to play football.
He will be ensuring to enhance coaching techniques to equip himself in the future for his managerial career. Rooney has a record of 700 appearances with 300 goals, out of which 253 is for Manchester United. He has scored 53 times in 120 games with 16 honors for his nation till today.
Rooney has said that “he will be a great contribution to the club and he is excited to be with the academy as well”. He has given a nod to Derby despite having 2 more seasons with DC united. Adding to this, he said that “moving away from home is a tough decision as the family is first and this transition is to be nearby to the loved ones in England”.
Derby has begun its season with a 2-1 victory at Huddersfield on Monday. They were earlier under Rooney’s former teammate Frank Lampard which is now taken over by Netherland’s midfielder Phillip Cocu.
Wayne will be joining “Phillip Cocu Derby Manager, coaching staffs and First-team squad”. Besides, Cocu has stated that Rooney will be a boost to the players and the younger generation joining the club.
