Tesla Autopilot Mode Crashes Again, Rams Two Other Vehicles!

The Electric Car Manufacturer, Tesla made it the news again when it’s autopilot mode failed yet again in Norwalk. The vehicle in autopilot reportedly rammed into two other vehicles one of them happens to be a police cruiser.

The owner of the car claimed that he was checking on his dog which he had put on the backseat for which he set an Autopilot mode. The early morning incident ended up clogging the lane until the authorities and police arrived at the scene. As troopers were waiting for a tow truck for that car, the Tesla, described as a 2018 Model 3, was traveling northbound and struck the rear of the cruiser before continuing in the same direction and hitting the disabled vehicle, according to authorities.

The car was finally stopped several hundred feet ahead by another trooper.

The driver, who was not identified, was issued a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving and reckless endangerment, police said.

“Regardless of your vehicle’s capabilities, when operating a vehicle your full attention is required at all times to ensure safe driving,” state police said.

Sgt Jim Cota, the public information officer for the Laguna Beach police department, tweeted photos of the accident, which was reported at 11.07 am on Tuesday. The driver of the Tesla, who suffered minor lacerations to the face from his glasses, told police officers the Tesla was in the semi-autonomous mode, although further investigation is needed to confirm this.
