The Bucks star Giannis earlier spoke to a source stating that: if the team does not do well, then it might make it “a lot more difficult.”
The unusual comment from the player popped up when he spoke in a talks show. Giannis who has been consecutive and successful this far is in talks to sign a 5-year contract for a sum of $253 million with the team next year or be a free agent by 2021.
He said that: “I want the Bucks to build a winning culture,” Elberse and her co-author, master’s student Melcolm Ruffin, quoted Antetokounmpo as saying. “So far, we have been doing great, and, if this lasts, there’s no other place I want to be. But if we’re underperforming in the NBA next year, deciding whether to sign becomes a lot more difficult.”
Though it seems simple it is unusual to see Giannis talk so direct on “Supermax.” To his statement, the co-owner of Milwaukee’s co-owner Jamie Dinan said that the star’s comments were misinterpreted by the source that wanted contradictions for their own purpose.
He said that: “I wasn’t in the room when [Antetokounmpo] said it,” Dinan said, “so I don’t know if they goaded him a little bit to kind of get some conflict.”
Besides, Giannis has not disclosed anything on his deal and so the fans are waiting for the news whether he will continue with the team.
