Trump on Tuesday stated that his upcoming executive order of holding new immigrations will be for people who are applying for green cards. Further, this will not be a barrier to employees who are in the country on a temporary basis.

Talking on the details post his tweet on Monday he said: “temporarily suspend immigration into the United States,” due to the ongoing corona outbreak and to an almost hold on Immigration.

But he told that the stipulation would only be a 60-day hold and only for people applying for permanent residence in the U.S. A source from the administration told that this is only for temporary employees as it has more complications and requires some time to figure out.

Further, Trump tweeted on Wednesday that he will look into the final order later that day. A source said that the working progress on the order was done and he would look into it after 60 days and will consider whether it can be renewed or so.

The President also gave suggestions that there will economic effects and signified that it will: “protect American workers,” along with some exemption.

He continued saying: “By pausing immigration, we’ll help put unemployed Americans first in line for jobs as America reopens,” Trump said. “It would be wrong and unjust for Americans laid off by the virus to be replaced with new immigrant labor flown in from abroad. We must first take care of the American workers.”

Further information on the exemption will be announced “tonight or tomorrow.”
