President Donald Trump, who’s a hardcore NewYorker has filed papers to make Florida his permanent residence, officially becoming a ‘Florida Man‘.
According to him, he chose to change his residence since New York politicians treated him badly.
Trump, who is very tight-lipped on his tax returns, said that he was being treated harshly by New York’s politicians.
Born in New York, he said that he would hold the city close to his heart. However, taking a dig at New York state Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who both happen to be Democrats, he said– “Unfortunately, despite the fact that I pay millions of dollars in city, state and local taxes each year, I have been treated very badly by the political leaders of both the city and state. Few have been treated worse”.
Trump, who has spent most time in his Mar-a-lago estate in Palm Beach, more than he has ever in his suite at Trump Tower forged a move to Florida owing lenient and lower state taxes.
It’s normal for people to move out of New York to move to the Sunshine state of Florida. Florida has been the top destination over the last decade for a million New Yorkers who have bundled their livelihoods to permanently move to Florida. It is clear as crystal that Trump’s move is financially motivated.
New York state Governor Andrew Cuomo welcomed Trump’s decision and deemed it a “Good riddance”.
Good riddance.
It’s not like @realDonaldTrump paid taxes here anyway…
He’s all yours, Florida. https://t.co/9AX0q1aBkQ

Apart from financial intentions, Trump would also benefit legally. Trump, as of now, is mired with multiple probes into his political committees, defamation lawsuits, an investigation into his family foundation among many others. All launched by New York state attorney General and the Manhattan District Attorney. To put it simply– Trump feels threatened by the presence of government officials who are mostly Democratic in the State of New York.
Though him moving to Florida wouldn’t make all those investigations and accusations vanish, it’s only a matter of time till they catch up to him.
For the time being, Trump is going to play it hard to become a son of Florida.
And good luck to him for that.
