Minneapolis, D.C and More Witness Outrage over George Floyd’s Death

After Minneapolis its cities like D.C, Atlanta, and more who have raged over George Floyd’s death.

There have been protests everywhere on racism and cruelty of cops which began in Minneapolis when a video surfaced online showing Floyd an African American who passed away after a white cop held him with his knee to the ground on his neck.

The officer found as Derek Chauvin has been sacked from his position and was punished with ‘3rd-degree murder and manslaughter on Friday’. But the people of the state were not over with this as they demanded the government to stop racism and police brutality that has been happening across the country.

Although the major outrage is in Minneapolis, other cities across the nation an approx of 30 has broken in a riot. Speaking on this the police officials from WCCO it said that: “In the interest of the safety of our personnel, the Minneapolis Police Department evacuated the 3rd Precinct of its staff. Protesters forcibly entered the building and have ignited several fires.”

Protests have also been witnessed in neighborhoods of St. Paul where officials stated that almost 170 businesses are “damaged and looted” and others have been burnt.

Speaking on this the Mayor of Minneapolis Jacob Frey tweeted saying that the anger is the “result of so much built up anger and sadness – anger and sadness that has become engrained in our Black community, not because of just five minutes of horror—but 400 years.”

He also asked local people to: “hold our communities dear” and “do right by them” by “safeguarding them and the community assets they need.”
