Jeff Bezos Funded $100 Million to Obama Foundation

The Obama Foundation received a precious gift! The Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos donated a whopping $100 million to the former US president Barack Obama’s foundation, making it the largest-ever individual contribution. According to the Obama Foundation, the world’s second-richest person gifted this big amount in honor of civil rights icon and Congressman John Lewis, who died last year. Not only that, Bezos and their family have donated $166 million to New York University’s medical center. The donation was made to “help expand the scope of programming that reaches emerging leaders in the United States and around the world,” Courtney Williams, a spokesperson for the foundation, said in a statement. “As part of the gift, Bezos has asked for the plaza at the Obama Presidential Center to be named the John Lewis Plaza.”

Previously Mr. Jeff planned to spend $10 billion by 2030 to improve climate change efforts through his Bezos Earth Fund. He has revealed some information about his plan on spending money.
Obama’s legacy project is estimated to cost around $830 million. By 2025, the construction will be completed. In the meantime, the foundation stated it will provide an opportunity to people who want to dominate and “honor and elevate the names of those who have fought for a more just and equitable world.” In the statement released by the foundation, Jeff also mentioned that a special place should be given to freedom fighters.

Before Jeff completes the 11-minute space journey, he made a statement that he donated $200 million to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, and planned to establish the Bezos Learning Center.
