The French actress Catherine Deneuve was rushed to hospital a few days back after she suffered a stroke. The news was confirmed and it was stated that there is no major problem as her motor function is not injured, but it might take time to recover.

Fondly called “Ice Maiden” she is well known for its role in the French movie Belle de Jour which came in 1967. The movie was helmed by Luis Bunuel which was said to be vulgar as it depicted a homemaker who did prostitution to spend her lazy afternoons.

The illness of the ageless beauty was started on a Wednesday morning as she had pain on Tuesday evening. Her latest film which is on the floor is De Son Vivant directed by Emmanuelle Bercot.

She first made her debut in 1964 for Jacques Demy’s flick “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.” This enabled her to do several films all over Europe for ace directors like Roman Polanski, Andre Technie and Lars Von Trier.

She consecutively ruled the box office with her performance for years and also did a vampire character opposite David Bowie in 1983 in the film “The Hunger,” and later her movie Indochine was nominated for academy awards.

Last year she received Japan Art Association’s renowned award Premium Imperiale for theatre and movies.
