The recent series that is popular among Netflix viewers is ‘Sex Education’. After completing 2 successful seasons, they were on floors filming the 3rd season but unfortunately, it has been halted as the quarantine period is extended in the U.K.
The lockdown extension was declared by the government on Thursday. It was said that 11 of the series from Netflix were to go on floors in Wales in May but everything has been delayed as the social distancing is extended up to 3 weeks.
Though the halt was expected it emphasizes that the problem has brought a huge loss for production houses across the world. The online streamer had several UK based releases but it was all postponed due to the Corona pandemic especially The Witcher.
Meanwhile ‘The Crown’ from Left Bank Pictures was just in time to wind up prior to the shutdown. Besides, the online platform is trying to associate with some in-house and other production houses to restart the production with all safety measures, but it is not sure when the lockdown will be lifted and the cameras will start rolling.
Some of the series that were to be filmed in the following days were “Season 6 of Starz show Outlander, made by Left Bank, and Landscapers, Olivia Colman’s HBO and Sky crime drama produced by Sister Pictures.” Even, Sky Season 2 by David Schwimmer was also to get on floors this week.
