Joaquin Phoenix Quits Movie 5 Days Before Filming

Have you heard of people getting “cold feet?” Joaquin Phoenix, the Oscar-winning actor, is said to have got cold feet before the shooting of a movie in which he had a major role to play. Read on to know more details about the actor quitting the movie.

It is supposed to be a romance movie from Todd Haynes. Five days before the filming of the movie, actor, Joaquin Phoenix, announced that he won’t be a part of the film. He was very much involved in the movie. In fact, Phoenix, along with Todd Haynes and Jon Raymond, participated in developing the screenplay. So what happened?

Rumor has it that Phoenix might have quit the movie because it might have too many intimate scenes. But what is going to happen to all the arrangements that have already been made? The movie, as of now, is said to be in “peril.” Phoenix’s part cannot be recast. And, it’s estimated that the total loss could be in seven figures!

There is no clear explanation as to why the actor has withdrawn from the film. The movie has already been sold to distributors and all the stakeholders are waiting to be paid. 

Danny Ramirez, the “Top Gun: Maverick” actor was to be a co-star in the film, along with Phoenix. Sources reveal that this is not the first time a movie in which Phoenix was involved, is completely shut down. It has happened before when a movie with Phoenix and Rooney Mara was shut down because of some insurance coverage issues.

With a staggering amount of money invested in the film, we don’t know what is going to happen to all the arrangements made for its shooting. Entire sets in Guadalajara, Mexico, which were put up for the shooting, are now sitting idly. We don’t know what is going to become of them.
