Hugh Jackman is reportedly in talks to star in ‘The Greatest Showman- 2’ after the first part nailed the audience and did exceptionally well at the box office.
The Greatest showman made $435 million at the box office and won a Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media apart from being nominated for multiple Acadamy Awards.
Hollywood is a cash trove and never fails to take up the opportunity to follow up a massive heat with a sequel. Director Michael Gracey has said The Sun, “When a movie becomes as big a success as this, it’s only natural there is demand for a sequel,” he said. “So those discussions have started and we are working on one right now.”
Jackman is personally open to the ideas of a sequel and would be interested but was not sure if there would be one. Speaking to an interview with BBC, he said, “If a genuine opportunity came up where it felt like the right thing to do, then yep, I’d get the top hat back out.”
The Greatest Showman stunned us with its visual appeal and set new pathbreaking standards to a Hollywood musical. If there is a possibility of a sequel, then there is definitely money in it. And with Hugh Jackman at its helm, there’s no doubt it’s going to be a lucrative affair.
