Thor himself is going to play Hulk Hogan, depicting his peak, when he meteorically rose to WWE fame in the ’80s. Hulk Hogan gained huge fanbase beyond America, leading to Hulkamania, a term popularly used for his die-hard fans, coined in 1984. After firming his foot steady in WWF, he moved ahead as an actor, television personality, entrepreneur, and musician.
Netflix obtained the life rights from Terry Gene Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan. Todd Phillips, who directed “The Hangover,” will direct this biopic.
Over the past several years, Hulk Hogan has been mired in public scandals which include a sex tape (that ended his marriage), incidents with his son Nick and an insensible racist rant that sealed his downfall forever. The production house says that none of the above things will be covered in the biopic though, as they want to focus on Hulk’s good ol’ glory days. Nothing more than that.
