Not sure about your post-quarantine haircut? Rapunzel hairstyle got you covered because this hairstyle is trending now.

In the COVID-19 condition, an overgrown aka Rapunzel hairstyle becomes a post lockdown trend. During the pandemic, we may find two different kinds of people since last year. One group of people who prefer DIY haircuts and others decided to grow it since we were supposed to practice social distancing to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

By hoping that there is a possibility of returning to normalcy this summer, people are excited to visit their favorite salons for a trim. Still, others want to keep those extra inches by calling it “Rapunzel” hair.

Devin Toth, a hairstylist at New York’s Salon SCK, told POPSUGAR that “When people returned to their salons after the lockdown, most of them were 100 percent ready to part ways with their outgrown pandemic hair.”

“There were others, though, who embraced their newly-acquired long locks and are now giving a ’70s Rapunzel-esque vibe.”

No matter what your hair length is, the occasional trim is necessary to maintain your hair healthy.

Toth advised two things to keep in mind while maintaining a longer hairstyle. He said, “Being very clear with your hairdresser that you only want a centimeter of hair cut off even if they think you need more, and absolutely no layers.” He further added, “The other thing is I recommend using [products] that are specifically made for keeping long hair long, like the Kerastase Bain Extentioniste Shampoo ($35).”

Long hair requires a lot of care and attention. Toth also suggests that people should be mindful of how they should treat their hair. It includes reducing the amount of heat. He said, “It was a long journey getting these long locks, and you don’t want to fry them away.”

“Also, the length and weight of your mane will weigh your curls and even your frizz down. Don’t be surprised if your hair is flat on top.”

Embrace your ultra-long hair and stay safe!
