The reality star and her rapper husband have been planning for divorce for a long time before Kanye’s array of controversial tweets and statements say several sources to PEOPLE.
Kanye has been showing an unpredictable behavior post his announcement to run for the 2020 presidential election. His wife Kim had also admitted that he has been suffering from bipolar disorder and requested her followers to show “compassion” and understand their “complicated and painful” time.
Back on Tuesday, Kanye admitted on Twitter that he is thinking to part ways with Kim 39, for a long time. And to more fuel to it, one source stated that: “divorce had been in the process for several weeks.”
Yet another said aware of the situation: “There has been enough communication, both in the past few days and in the weeks prior, to establish that both sides feel the marriage is over.”
But nothing is confirmed as spokesperson of both the sides did not comment.
An insider says that talks of divorce are there for a long time. The couple who tied the knot in 2014 and have four children “were even attempting to figure out the most amicable and loving co-parenting situation,” the source adds. “But now Kanye has, well, he has gone down a different path. Both in terms of deciding to announce his presidential bid, and also in terms of how he is choosing to express himself and the things he is choosing to say.”
“They have work to do, as parents and as spouses who want to end this phase of their relationship,” the source continues. “Kanye knows all of this, and everything that is happening right now is just like a horrible sideshow to what the real issues are.”
“First and foremost, he has some needs that have to be met, urgently,” the source adds. “Then they need to move forward in terms of structuring a split that can be amicable and healthy for both of them and most of all for their four children.”
