Halle Berry, the African-American beauty, has won many hearts all over the world. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and was then raised in Bedford. She successfully graduated from Bedford High School. Berry was the editor of her school’s newspaper and she was also the prom queen!

In her younger days, she won lots of awards in beauty pageants and ranked sixth in the Miss World 1986 contest. From a young age, she had a passion for acting. In order to pursue her acting ambitions, she later moved to New York City, where she struggled a lot without any money. For some time, she also had to stay at a homeless shelter. But by the end of that year itself, her situation improved quite a lot when she was cast in the television series called “Living Dolls.”

Berry went on to act in several movies, including “Jungle Fever,” “Strictly Business,” and “Boomerang.” Over the years, she has risen to fame by portraying lots of challenging roles. In the James Bond movie, “Die Another Day,” Berry starred opposite Pierce Brosnan. It was in the year 2002 that she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. It was for the movie, “Monster’s Ball,” in which she played a widow who struggles in life. The psychological thriller, “Gothika,” won her a lot of positive reviews. Berry continued to play roles in the “X-Men” movie and its sequels. 

Halle Berry has faced several struggles in her life, but she has always been courageous and undaunted. Once, when her ex-boyfriend hit her, she lost almost eighty percent of her hearing. But the way she has fought for her position in Hollywood and for her family can never be belittled.
