A Love Island star received death threats and hateful messages after the latest episode of Love Island is aired. Love Island star Chloe Burrows’ family claims she has received death threats as a result of Shannon Singh’s elimination from the reality dating show. In the dating series, Chloe Burrows, 25, chose to “couple up” with Aaron Francis in scenes aired Wednesday night, leaving another contestant, Fife-born Shannon single, and ‘dumped’ from the villa. Shannon’s abrupt departure from the show sparked outrage on social media.

Shannon was ejected from the island following a “recoupling” ceremony in the second episode in which all the contestants chose their partners, making her the show’s shortest-lived contestant. Some fans believe she will make a surprise return to the show. Shannon’s early departure from the show sparked outrage on social media, with some speculating that the Scots party girl might return to the show’s ‘Villa Amor’ later on. However, the family of marketing executive Chloe, 25, has spoken out after being horrified by the abuse on social media.

A statement from Chloe’s friends and family was posted on her Instagram story, that

“As the family and friends of Chloe, we would like to let you all know that we are extremely disappointed and saddened by the recent threats made towards Chloe. To receive death threats and see the malicious vitriol that exists online first-hand is incredibly distressing, and we are apprehensive for Chloe to leave the villa and observe this herself.”

“What Saddens us the most is the fact that as a digital society we appear to have normalized this type of behavior, accepting that these things happen.”

“This cannot continue. We must stand tall together and demand change from online platforms like Instagram, to safeguard our loved ones when they need it most.”

“People… this is a GAME show, there is a cash prize!”

“We understand the frustration surrounding @shannonsinghh’s eviction – we feel it too!”

“She didn’t deserve to leave so early but Chloe does not deserve to DIE because Shannon had to leave the villa! She will have had no idea of the repercussions of her decisions before making them.

Love Island’s Chloe Burrows family has revealed that they are working with police to find the people responsible for the shocking death threats made against the beauty. After Chloe, 25, received death threats from trolls just three days into the new series of the ITV2 dating show, bosses were forced to act.
