Adele’s long-awaited single, “Easy On Me’

Almost after a six years break, Adele dropped a new track “Easy On Me,” the first single for her upcoming fourth studio album of, 30. The project is said to be intensely personal in which she addresses her divorce. The 33-year old divorced her husband, Simon Konecki in 2019. However, they both are raising their son together.

Easy on Me is one of the highly anticipated songs in recent times. In an interview, Adele says that she started working on the album three years ago. The song comprises powerful vocals, soulful piano ballad, soft bass with a stylish black and white music video. The lyrics sound similar to her previous tracks Someone Like You, Send My Love( To Your New Lover), Hello because all these lyrics talk about heartbreak.

Easy On Me is especially for those who are in heartbreak. The song portrays the end of a relationship- “There ain’t no room for things to change/ when we are both so deeply stuck in our ways, You can’t deny how hard I’ve tried/ I changed who I was to put you both first, but now I give up.” Here “both” refers to her ex-husband and her child.

The five-and-a-half-minute video is directed by Xavier Dolan. With voluminous hair, winged eyeliner, and coat, the 15-time Grammy Award winner looked stunning. In a Twitter post, Adele revealed that ‘30’ will be released on November 19. The album’s numeric pattern reflects her age at the time she wrote the song.
