Shelley Duvall, the Texas-born movie star, acted in several films, such as “Frog,” “Home Fries,” “Annie Hall,” “Popeye,” and more. Duvall passed away recently due to the severe effects of diabetes. Her long-time partner, Dan Gilroy, said that she died in her sleep at home in Texas. Complications from diabetes are the primary cause of death.

Gilroy’s exact words were, “My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner, and friend left us last night. Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away beautiful Shelley.”

When Duvall was attending college in Texas, Robert Altman’s crew members were preparing for the film, “Brewster McCloud.” They introduced her to the director, who cast Duvall later in that movie.

Shelley Duvall was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on July 7, 1949. Her father was a cattle auctioneer, and her mother was a real estate agent. In 1970, Duvall married artist, Bernard Sampson, and they were divorced after four years. She also dated musicians, Paul Simon, Stan Wilson, Ringo Starr, and more.

In November 2016, she appeared on the talk show, “Dr. Phil,” and disclosed that she was suffering from mental illness. She said, “I am very sick. I need help.” Duvall is known to have won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival for portraying one of her characters.
