Chris Hemsworth Pledges One Million Dollars to Fight Australian Fires

Chris Hemsworth shared a video on Instagram on Monday urging his followers to contribute towards helping Australia fight the fires. The Australian bush fires have risen to alarming levels and have already destroyed half-billion living birds, mammals, and reptiles. Being an Australian, Chris Hemsworth has taken this very personally donating $1 million personally, prompting others to contribute how much ever they can.

Hi everyone. Like you, I want to support the fight against the bushfires here in Australia. My family and I are contributing a million dollars. Hopefully you guys can chip in too. Every penny counts so whatever you can muster up is greatly appreciated. New South Wales and Victoria were the worse affected and the total land destroyed by fire is in the scale of millions of acres all around the country. Homes and families are being displaced because of the fire.

So far, the fire has claimed the lives of 25 people and by the looks of it will continue claiming more. Experts have stated that the fires are here to stay for another few months.
