How did Jamie and Chris make their love sparkle for nearly 40 years?

Jamie Lee Curtis has been married to the actor, writer, director, and musician Christopher Guest, for nearly 40 years. 

The ‘Halloween’ star reportedly saw Christopher in Rolling Stone magazine. Jamie told this incident to her friend Debra Hill. Debra even tried to make them contact with the help of Christopher’s agent. Later, Christopher and Jamie met in a restaurant in West Hollywood. The couple then got engaged after two months of dating and got hitched in 1984. 

In 2018, the ‘Freak Friday,’ star told Good Housekeeping the secret of her long married life, “Don’t leave. There’s a recovery phrase that says, ‘Stay on the bus…the scenery will change.’ You think you’re having a bad week but stay on the bus, because one of these days you’ll look out the window and it’ll be beautiful. I think it can apply to almost anything where you feel unhappy at that moment. I’m not a wild romantic. I’m a realist. I respect him. And I just don’t leave.”

That quote says it all about the efforts every couple should make to be together forever.

Jamie and Christopher welcomed their first child Annie Guest, the eldest daughter of the celebrity couple, in 1986. A decade later, Ruby Guest was born to the duo in March 1996.  

The 26-year-old Ruby had come out as transgender. While addressing the same, Jamie once said, “We have watched in wonder and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby. And she and her fiancé will get married next year at a wedding that I will officiate.”
