Witherspoon, 48, recounted a recent dinner outing with a friend and her sons, 21-year-old Deacon Phillippe and 12-year-old Tennessee. During the meal, her friend posed a simple yet profound question to her boys: “What’s one lesson you’ll always remember that your mom taught you?”   

The response? Pure gold. One of her sons, without hesitation, shared a piece of wisdom Reese had instilled in them: “If you have the choice to be normal or the choice to be weird, always choose weird. And that it’s okay to stand out and be different.”

The actress, visibly moved, placed her hand over her heart as she relayed the story. “It filled my heart with the deepest joy that he learned that from me,” she gushed. “It just meant so much to me that my kids know it’s okay to be different and that it can actually end up being their superpower.”

Witherspoon, who also has a 25-year-old daughter, Ava, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, made sure to express her admiration for Wood and the entire “White Lotus” cast. “I’m watching, I’m loving it, I’m quoting it,” she confessed, clearly captivated by the series.
