Did you know that only 5% of the world’s pilots are women? While the world looks up to the U.S and Europe as far as aviation advancements are concerned, it is none other than India that has ranked first in the list of countries with the highest number of female pilots. Though times have changed and women are achieving greater heights in almost every male-dominated field, flying an airplane still seems to remain a dream far from becoming a reality. In a situation like this, India needs great appreciation for becoming the country with the largest percentage of female pilots.
Airlines such as Zoom Air, Air India, Indigo, and Spicejet are the major reasons for the country’s credit of holding nearly 13% of its pilots as women beating America with a 7.4%. In spite of the comments from the world media that the rise in numbers is merely because of the pilot demand in the country, it’s impossible to deny the fact that every Indian female pilot’s passion and love towards flying has made this feat possible.
