Linkin Park’s last single, One More Light, has been officially certified as Gold in the US. Gold certification is awarded only when 500,000 equivalent units are sold in the country.
The emotional single was the last released by Linkin Park with late lead singer Chester Bennington. The lyrics of the song continues to resonate with fans even today, almost two years since its release, especially with people who lost someone important in their life.
During its release, Mike Shinoda commented “One More Light was written with the intention of sending love to those who lost someone. We now find ourselves on the receiving end. In memorial events, art, videos, and images, fans all over the world have gravitated towards this song as their declaration of love and support for the band and the memory of our dear friend, Chester. We are so very grateful and can’t wait to see you again.”
Perhaps the greatest rock band of our generation, its frontman, Chester Bennington is still a fan favorite. His death by suicide on 20 July 2017, Palos Verdes Estates, California was a huge shock to his fans worldwide.
