Extravagance, recognization & applauds to great works, that’s what Oscar Awards are all about! This year, a notable movie “On The Basis Of Sex“ is one of the top contenders for the most prestigious award in the film fraternity. It’s a period movie and a biographical drama based on male chauvinism existed in the 60s, 70s in the land of America.
Can you imagine that you can get fired from your job if you get pregnant? and how about you can’t open a bank account if you don’t have your husband to cosign? What if you can’t get into Princeton or Harvard just because you are a woman? Would you have withstood or fought the patriarchy with all the soul and energy you had? Also, Its scary enough to think that it was not long ago, is it?
But one woman chose to fight it out and took steps toward the liberation of millions of women in America. Ruth Bader Ginsberg – the movie revolves around this character. Ginsberg gets into Harvard one among 9 female students and faces a male-centric abode. The dean of Harvard, Erwin N. Griswald, asks her and other female students to justify why they had taken a man’s place in the school, and professors refuse to call upon them in class. But Ginsberg fights all the odds and become a top-notch attorney along with her husband who is also a Harvard student. In the movie which is directed by Mimi Leder, the role of Ruth is played by Felicity Jones and the handsome Armie Hammer in the cast to play as Martin Ginsburg, her husband, is the man of her times still provides his vehement support which makes us love him more on the screen. We wish the crew all the very best to bag many Oscars for this wonderful creation.
