The Vampire Diaries queen once explained in an interview with CMT, “Valentine’s Day is one of those things that, if I have a boyfriend I love it … and then when I’m single, I wish the day never existed.” She continued, “There’s a lot of empty space between Christmas and Mother’s Day. They needed something else, so they invented Valentine’s Day.”
Ashton Kutcher
He told Parade magazine, “I hate Valentine’s Day. I can’t stand it. I think that every day should be a day of romance. I think you should celebrate love 364 days out of the year.” He continued, “Then, on Valentine’s Day, you should get to tell whoever you hate that you cannot stand them. There would be one day of hating and 364 days of love.”
Judd Apatow
The Knocked Up director, Judd Apatow, admitted in 2016 that, “I feel pressure on Valentine’s Day, I feel like I’m supposed to make it good. … Then it’s all just about fear, like, ‘Am I gonna screw it up?’”
Ian Somerhalder
The Vampire Diaries alum was not a big fan of Valentine’s Day before finding his life partner. In February 2015, he wrote on Instagram, “I used to think this Day was a conspiracy of chocolatiers and florists but I realize that taking a day out of our busy lives to celebrate the love in our lives is so important and should be every day.”
Gillian Jacobs
In 2016, the Community star told Yahoo Entertainment, “It’s one of those holidays where it’s just all expectations so it can be nothing but disappointment unless someone gets you a bouquet of diamonds, it’s going to be a letdown.”
