The Dark Knight was edited by Christopher Nolan to escape PG-13

Happens that several scenes from the movie were subject to R-rating, so Nolan wanted them cut off. David Dastmalchian who plays Thomas Schiff in the movie shared a thin but intriguing slice of information about the same with The Hollywood Reporter. The actor said that gruesome and bloody scenes were cut off so that it would be appropriate to be viewed by everyone.
