Alanis Morissette Says ‘Jagged’ Documentary Has False Facts!

Jagged is a new American documentary that centers on the life and career of Alanis Morissette, a Canadian singer-songwriter. Instead of celebrating the premiere, Alanis accused the director of breaking her trust. Alanis also refused to attend the Jagged premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival as she is unhappy with the movie and says that the documentary contains “implications and facts that are simply not true.”

Alison Klayman directed jagged. The documentary is all about Morissettes’ early years in the music industry and her journey to success. The Canadian singer was portrayed as a victim of sexual misconduct when she was fifteen years old. The documentary also raises various questions about the music industry. Alanis stated that she would not attend any of the events regarding “Jagged.

“I agreed to participate in a piece about the celebration of ‘Jagged Little Pill’s 25th anniversary and was interviewed during a very vulnerable time (during her third postpartum depression during lockdown),” Morissette said. She also added that “I was lulled into a false sense of security, and their salacious agenda became apparent immediately upon my seeing the first cut of the film. This is when I knew our visions were in fact painfully diverged. This was not the story I agreed to tell.”

Morissette says that she didn’t share any specific information about her as a teenager, affecting herself and her family. She also answered the most-asked question, why did that woman wait 30 years? “No one was listening or their livelihood was threatened or their family was threatened. So yeah, the whole ‘why do women wait for’ thing? Women don’t wait – a culture doesn’t listen.” Morissette said. Jagged will premiere on November 19 on HBO and HBO Max.
