After watching the music’s biggest couple walking in Met Gala 2021, it is hard to believe that the pop star couple is breaking up after dating for more than two years. They announced their breakup on Wednesday, November 17. They stated in the statement, “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever.” Both said they’ll “continue to be best friends.”
They further added, “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward. Camila and Shawn.”

The singers have been friends and have done many collaborations since 2015 including their duet “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” The 2019 collab became popular where the couple starred in the “Señorita” music video. They confirmed their relationship in July 2019. After that, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were spotted together attending movie premieres hand-in-hand. The singers spent time together with family during a pandemic. The “Treat You Better” singer Shawn stated to Apple Music last year that he has been dating Camila and spent time with her during the global lockdown.
