The Netflix streaming platform confirms the cast of its upcoming spin-off series of ‘Vikings’. The upcoming follow-up series of the recently concluded ‘Vikings’ saga was much-awaited among the fans.
The series brought back 10th-century history to life on screen with dramatic screenplay and plots is streaming on Netflix and will debut the upcoming spin-off episodes. The ‘Vikings: Valhalla”, the follow-up story will be set 100 years later than the completed seasons, featuring the landscapes of Ireland.
“Valhalla” will be executive produced by “Vikings” creator Michael Hirst, with Jeb Stuart serving as writer and showrunner. MGM Television agreed to produce the season and will have the following cast:
Other executive producers attached include James Flynn, Sherry Marsh, Alan Gasmer, Sheila Hockin, and John Weber.
Screenwriters joining Stuart are Vanessa Alexander, Declan Croghan, and Eoin McNamee.
Niels Arden Oplev, Stephen St. Leger, and Hannah Quinn are some of the directors confirmed for the first season.

History TV epic ‘Vikings’ will be resurrected by Netflix.
The spin-off series titled Vikings: Valhalla will be set 100 years after the exploits of Ragnar Lothbrok in the original show. According to Netflix, Vikings: Valhalla will focus on the most famous Vikings in Nordic history including Norman King William the Conqueror.
Valhalla will have the same creator and executive producer Michael Hirst, with most of the crew tasked to recreate the success of Vikings.
“I am beyond excited that we are announcing the continuation of our ‘Vikings’ saga,” Hirst expressed in a statement. “I know that the millions of our fans across the globe will be thrilled by the belief being shown in our show by MGM and Netflix. Jeb Stuart, a truly wonderful writer, will bring new story-lines and a powerful visceral vision to stories about some of the most famous Vikings known to history.”
The spin-off series has been announced even before Vikings’ final season premiers on History TV on December 6th. This will be Vikings’ 6th and final season.
Vikings is probably the most underappreciated series in all of Television. This was History TV’s first original series. It didn’t get a lot of attention owing to the fact that History is not as big as NBC or AMC and they didn’t quite market this masterpiece enough. With its loyal following, it scores a whopping 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Vikings finale will premiere on December 6th, 2019.
