This Monday Josh Gad brought together the cast of the 1986 comedy series which saw Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller), Alan Ruck (Cameron), and Mia Sara (Sloane), to remember the maker John Hughes after 34 years.
Many supporting Ferris Bueller stars also came in the Reunited Apart show. Jennifer Grey who portrayed Jeanie Bueller made fun talking about the “dark side” of the role and how she joked on her 3 co-actors in the set.
“I had no one to hang out with because they were all playing all the time, so I was very much on my own,” said the Dirty Dancing star, 60. “So I would get in all sorts of trouble.”
Grey remembered when she used to dress up like a fan and go to her co-actors for autographs.
“John had security trailing me and saying, ‘Keep her away from us,’ and I just was going up to everyone to see if I could get into the movie as this autograph hound,” she recalled of her prank antics. “I felt so left out!”
Ben Stein who is known as the economics teacher taking attendance in the movie: “Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?” — recounted his audition process, which ended in a round of applause. He called landing the now-famous role the “happiest day of my life.”
At the end of the show several actors reenacted the popular scenes from John’s movies. The filmmaker who is known for films like ‘The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles’ etc. passed away in 2009 and he was 59.
