The online streamer Quibi has now updated its iOS application to backstreaming to watch shows on tv by using Google or Chromecast. The addition of it was officially confirmed on Tuesday post it had updated AirPlay a few weeks back. This marked it as the first to see shows from their platform and other small videos apart from a phone.
Sure we designed Quibi for on-the-go, but these days visiting the family room is like a day trip… so AirPlay support is live for iOS in Quibi 1.3. Working hard on Chromecast too which will be available in June.

But as of Tuesday evening, the iOS app which was earlier updated on 20th May did not seem to support Chromecast.
But the online device had a tough start post its launch in April amidst coronavirus crisis. As the usage of streaming devices has been increasing in recent times, Quibi has failed to make it amongst mainstream viewers and few of its programs are only successful.
It toiled for a month to release its AirPlay backup. And after 2 months of its release, they have received Chromecast backup as well. But the firm is still to make its better version of apps in Quibi for Amazon Fire devices, Roku, and so on. At present Quibi can be streamed in tv only through mirror features from Apple or Google.
Let’s hope the company comes up with some good versions to enhance it better.
