The news comes to post BBC alongside Netflix and BritBox took Little Britain off from its page after deciding that using blackface is not acceptable.

After the ‘Black Lives Matters’ rally, a discussion was made on late mainstream on general racism and freedom of whites and the online streamers removed Matt Lucas and David Walliams’ controversial drawing show with an instant effect.

But a source in BBC stated that they will not take off Lilley’s show for now.

Speaking on this they said: “The change only affects Little Britain,” “There’s a lot of historical programming available on BBC iPlayer, which we regularly review.”

As of ‘Summer Heights High’ series Lilley had a brown face to portray the role of Jonah Takalua.

When it was premiered it was labeled ‘racist’ and stirred an online protest by young Tongans stating that Lilley had imprecise depiction and it may affect their community and their future.

In 2011 this was slammed by New Zealand’s Minister for Pacific People Alfred Ngaro for bringing in negative effects on Pacific people.

Further, Lilley was criticized for using blackface in his 10 episode drama Lunatics where he portrayed Jana Melhoopen-Jones a homosexual pet psychic from South Africa.

But he came in defense of the doc made and stated that he is not intending to jump on things. He said: “‘I’m not trying to do the thing that is trendy at the moment,” in reference to the likes of Nanette Hannah’s Gadsby.

He added that he will go forward and make “clever, layered’ characters, as he has done in Summer Heights High, Jamie Private School Girl, Angry Boys and We Can Be Heroes.”
