The growing feud between the WHO and Trump administration has escalated quickly as the POTUS has decided to cut funds to the organization. In a press statement from the White House on Tuesday, Trump announced that the WHO has severely mismanaged and covered up the spread of Coronavirus. Ever since the impact of the infection started taking a rapid sweep over the US, the President has been accusing WHO for its biased behavior towards China where it first originated; whereas, the health observatory has been constantly denying this.
Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds. Their work is slowing the spread of COVID-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them. The world needs @WHO now more than ever.

America has been so far the largest funder of the health organization with a contribution of around $400 million last year. Several philanthropists including Bill Gates has said that the government halting the funds isn’t the right thing to do at this time of the crisis. Here are some top reactions tweeted,
This is the US president's "advisor," who thought covid-19 meant the 19th outbreak… And criticized #WHO for not warning the US govt early.😅😅😅😅 pic.twitter.com/VlOoQ57Vc9

.@WHO is on the front lines of this pandemic, providing advice, training, and equipment crucial to saving lives—including Americans’.
Cutting their funding is not only dangerous—Trump doesn’t have the authority to do it. He should know: violating spending laws got him impeached.

The largest professional association of physicians, the American Medical Association, labeled President #Trump’s announcement Tuesday that he will put a hold on funding for the World Health Organization “dangerous.” @WHO #WHO #COVID19

The #WHO informed the world about the #COVID19 threat on January 5. It was the Trump administration that failed to take it seriously until March. #Trump is seeking to deflect blame for his own administration's problems by attacking the WHO. https://t.co/54wqrT4YbW

It’s important to face the #WHO’s failures. But as @ThePlumLineGS argues,
“even if you accept that the WHO committed serious errors, the timeline is still far more damning to #Trump, by the terms that he himself has set through his criticism.” https://t.co/hm9fz8KnG4— EJ Dionne (@EJDionne) April 15, 2020
