Like many other countries that have shut down their borders to contain the global pandemic that has been spreading like a forest fire, Australia has decided to restrict the entry of non-citizens and non-residents.
With over 800 confirmed cases of COVID-19, Australia has been taking every measure to stop the spread. The state of New South Wales ranks first in the number of people tested positively closely followed by Queensland.
Apart from the entry ban to non-citizens and non-residents, the government has also posed restrictions to travel to remote islands within the continent. This measure is a great initiative by the federal administration to halt the escalation of the virus in the indigenous groups in isolated regions.
Despite the large number of people affected by the pandemic, Australia has managed to keep its death toll in control with 7 so far.
