The Walking Dead, the most-watched show in cable television history seems to be losing its fame. The season 8 awarded dissatisfaction to the fans, as a result, a large number of fans already gave up on it.
The season 9 premiere got 6.08 million viewers whereas season 8 had 11.44 million. The rating went down wasn’t because of Rick’s group threat on Negan and saviors, it was due to loss of interest.
What is the reason behind the poor ratings? The American post-apocalyptic horror television series failed to live up the chaos and coolness that fans expected!
The writer Patrick Schmid said in a Fansided article – Why I’m Breaking Up with “The Walking Dead’
“There wasn’t one single episode or event or death that made me walk away, but rather a culmination of bad episodes, poor storytelling, repetitive narratives and an undertow that pulled us further and further away from what first brought us together.”
The AMC zombie apocalypse series’ has a long-term future which led to low-ratings and continued to decline. AMC has back up now through its app/streaming service. Also, fans knew that The Walking Dead is the most pirated show in history. The zombie show will do anything to get the fans back.
