The Sensation of the 60’s -Steve McQueen!

Terence Stephen McQueen or fondly called Steve was a macho of the ’60s and the ’70s. His films spoke on behalf and he was considered as one of the best action heroes. Born on March 24, 1930, in Indianapolis, Indiana Steve began his career in the U.S marine and then went on to get into the famous theatre “Neighborhood Playhouse,” in 1952.

He did play here and there and he made his debut with “Somebody Up There Likes Me (1956), and then made a full-fledged appearance in the Horror flick “The Bob in 1958.” At the very same time, he did a TV series Dead or Alive which aired till 1961.

His stardom was gained through films like western “The Magnificent Seven (1960), The Great Escape (1963), Proper Stranger (1963), Soldier in the Rain (1963), Baby, the Rain Must Fall (1965), and The Cincinnati Kid (1965).” He was nominated for Oscars just once for his movie “The Sand Pebbles in 1966.

Apart from being the main lead, he has also done some stunt performances for his own movies. He passed away on November 7th, 1980, in Juarez, Mexico. Though he is gone his legacy remains still in the hearts of Hollywood.
