Ever since the NBA had a feud with China, many have commented on the issue and one of them is Chris Paul of the Oklahoma Hunters. After getting benched for almost 2 weeks in his pre-season the basketball star has finally spoken to the press that he requires time prior to commenting about it.
Besides, Rockets Chief Daryl Morey took to twitter saying: “Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong,” to his Twitter account, offering support to protesters in Hong Kong.”
A law to permit transportation from Hong Kong to main parts of China had raged protesters to fight against it. Though one of the localities chiefs accepted to suspend the bill, protestors asked for democracy along with other needs. Talks between the cops and the protestors eventually led to violence.
China being a major part of the NBA’s viewership also partners with them to cater to sports shoes and outfits.
After Daryl’s post, it was NBA commissioner Adam Silver and several other NBA stars like LeBron James, and James Harden who commented on the issue and was fired back by few. There were others like Steve Kerr who refused to talk on the issue.
