Will MCU ever pull off something like Ocean’s 8? Making a movie with an all-women cast?
Well, that’s up to Marvel Studios. But it seems Captain Marvel star Brie Larson badly wants an MCU movie with an all-women cast. The idea has been lingering around for a while, with other female superheroes also showing interest in the project.
Speaking in an interview, Brie Larson recounted the time she and several of her female co-stars approached Marvel boss Kevin Feige with this idea. She said,
“I will say that a lot of the female cast members from Marvel walked up to Kevin and we were like, ‘We are in this together, we want to do this.’ What that means, I have no idea.”
Thought the idea is very interesting, we need to wait and watch how Marvel fans take it in.
Over the years, the MCU has seen quite an uptick in the number of female superheroes. Though Brie Larson’s portrayal of Carol Denvers in Captain Marvel is the only standalone women superhero movie. But things seem brighter for women in the MCU saga, especially after Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster will return as Thor in movie that’s in the works.
With the success of Avengers: Endgame, the stakes are quite high on this one.
