When you hear the name “Friends” it brings back lots of memories. One of the most celebrated television series in the ’90s. Well, one character which was envied most was Rachel Green and today after 25 years it’s Ralph Lauren who’s bringing back her outfits back as “The One Where They Wore Ralph Lauren.”
The ace designer inspired by Jennifer Aniston’s swanky and fun-loving character where she works for Ralph has introduced it as an exclusive workwear collection. In association with “Warner Bros. consumer products and Bloomingdales,” the ensembles are filling Rachel’s line of clothes 2019.
The line has “velvet jackets and turtlenecks, leather trousers and skirts in suede, leather, and plaid, both in a mini and midi length.” Sadly there is no men’s collection but this is a special collection honoring Rachel. The choice of lines is from Polo and Lauren.
Ralph stated that: “The collection is a celebration of the brand’s role in the series,” said Ralph Lauren in a statement. “Just as friends proved to be a perennial favorite series for viewers over the last 25 years, this collection reflects Ralph Lauren’s timeless styles and archetypes that have remained a go-to for the modern working woman.”
To take you back to the nostalgia the ad shoots were shot in a set that imitated Monica and Rachel’s house and in Central Perk coffee shop. The collections along with the set will be showcased at Bloomingdales’ couture in New York reminiscing Rachel where she gets her debut job in fashion.
Further, the sets will be toured and kept on display at every Bloomingdale’s store all over the country. This will be the first association for Ralph Lauren and friends as it has crossed 25 years.
But a Balenciaga coat created hype in 2018 as it was a replica of Joey Tribbiani’s outfit in one of the episodes. Besides, this Pottery Barn had introduced Friends based furniture which was named after “The One with the Apothecary Table.”
Other fashion peers ASOS and H&M had released Friends based sweatshirts, tees, etc. Whereas Lego had a Friends theme Central perk café that had a cash register, menu card, flowers and also a cookie jar. And for the fans of the series “Trivial Pursuit had a “Friends edition” released.
